Aeromet help Royal Air Forces Association to celebrate 100 years of the RAF
03rd Apr 2018
Aeromet have helped the Wales, Midlands and South West branch of the Royal Air Forces Association to celebrate the 100 year anniversary of the founding of the RAF by casting a set of bespoke RAF Eagle emblems.
The project gave the Aeromet sand casting team in Sittingbourne a chance to practice the art of hand crafting sand moulds for bespoke projects. Whilst these methods are rarely employed at a factory more used to casting advanced parts for aerospace applications, the project gave one of our longest serving employees a chance to teach a first year apprentice the skill of hand crafting a casting.
The set of Eagle emblems will be used by the RAFA at events around the country to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the RAF.
