Aeromet celebrate successful week at the Farnborough International Airshow
24th Jul 2018
Aeromet are celebrating a successful week at the 2018 Farnborough International Airshow. The event started with Prime Minister Theresa May visiting the stand to learn more about Aeromet’s innovative capabilities and recent developments.
The Prime Minister went on to recognise Aeromet in her speech to officially open the event, praising Aeromet’s “highly complex alloy castings (which) are used in the structural components and casings in aircraft”.
Other visits during the week included Mark Carney, Governor of the Bank of England, and MPs from the Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy Select Committee.
The event gave us a chance to talk about our recent successes, including the integration of the business and assets of Stone Foundries and the new capabilities offered by the A20X™ Alloy.
Throughout the event Aeromet was celebrated as a UK supply chain successes story. Our Chairman Vardhan Rajkumar participated in a roundtable discussion with Secretary of State for International Trade Liam Fox and Adam Lucas from our Business Development team recorded a video with Minister for Trade and Export Promotion Baroness Fairhead, giving top tips for UK aerospace companies exploring overseas opportunities.
As always, the Airshow was a great chance to meet with customers and suppliers from across the industry and around the world. We also had a chance to speak to the next generation of engineers on Futures Day, the Friday of Farnborough when groups of students and young people are invited to attend the show.
